About Me

I’m Celeste (she/they). I am a full spectrum doula, artist, and aspiring herbalist offering services in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal) and virtually during this time.

All sides of my practice inform one another. My artistic practice has largely been about exploring love and tenderness; working with plants and herbal medicine informs the way I care about others; and as a doula I want to show up for you with the softness and support that these other two facets give me.

As a queer person, providing care to queer and trans people as well as other members of the LGBTQIA+ community is incredibly important to me.

I recognize that families can be created in so many different and equally beautiful ways. I also know that many queer and trans folks face difficult barriers in the medical system when wanting to start a family and/or throughout pregnancy. I am especially passionate about working with you and your family to make sure that you receive the quality care during this time that you need and deserve.

My doula work is firmly rooted in principles of reproductive justice, anti-racism, and harm reduction- as taught by Birthing Advocacy (October 2020). Before coming to this work, I was a nanny and care worker for many years. There, I was further called to explore birth work by witnessing the intersections between birth and the political world many times over. In my practice, I bring an understanding of different systems of oppression and how our societal structures impact reproduction, pregnancy, and birth. It’s my promise that the space we share together will be anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming of you.

With much warmth,

Celeste
